Washington University Libraries maintains a physical collection of models created by set designer John Ezell as part of his design process. These objects are delicate and not able to be easily shared with patrons. The Data Services team has developed a workflow using photogrammetry and 3D modeling to create digital copies of the scenes that can be shared through a browser-based interface. This briefing will introduce the collection, describe the workflow to capture photos, and share the processing used to create digital models. The initial goal is to facilitate long-term access and increase engagement with these hidden resources, but the methods have application to a wide variety of artifacts and other 3D objects.
