The Ohio State University Libraries’ Digital Preservation & Access Workgroup was charged in early 2020 with identifying its existing workflows for processing, access and preservation of born digital and digitized materials. The aim of this project was to visualize the work conducted by the University Libraries, exposing the intersections and gaps of the various workflows, in order to recommend and implement process improvements. Utilizing various tools from the realm of business process improvement to conduct the work, the team is nearing completion of the visualization phase and the release of its initial recommendations. Further, a sub-group was established to examine project prioritization and governance of that process, and is nearing completion of a prioritization rubric tool.
