The Archival Resource Key (ARK) is a full-featured, non-paywalled, persistable identifier designed for any kind of information object, whether digital, physical, or conceptual. The number of ARK organizations has almost doubled since our last CNI project update (2020), in which ARKs were described in support of natural history, genealogy, and publishing applications. This follow-up briefing will introduce ARKs as applied to archived scholarship, scientific samples, vocabulary terms, and biomedical information.
