The PKAL Learning Spaces Collaboratory (LSC) offers high quality programs and information resources. I serve on the Advisory Board of this group.
They have updated their website, on which you will find new resources and announcements of upcoming LSC events:
The first is the LSC webinar on September 15, facilitated by Phil Long, now at the University of Queensland, formerly at MIT; the topic is “Just Do It: Prototyping Toward Progressive Renovation of Learning Spaces”:
PKAL LSC suggests that in viewing the site, consider whether the photo is of a space with windows or not. Reflect on the questions to be addressed. Consider the relevance of such questions in your current context.
The webinar will be of value to all those with some stake in the quality of the built environment for learning.
2011 – 2012 LSC webinar series will feature individuals and campuses where discussions about learning spaces are becoming woven into the institutional culture, rather than entered into episodically in response to an immediate need. The registration fee for an LSC webinar is an institutional fee, so participants are invited to assemble colleagues anticipating or giving attention to learning spaces—whether they be facilities officers, librarians, academic administrators, or faculty from across the campus.
