CNI Fall 2022 Membership Meeting
December 12-13, 2022
JW Marriott Hotel, Washington, DC
#CNI22f
We are no longer accepting project briefing proposals
Submission Deadline: October 10, 2022
About the Briefings
Project briefings (presentations) are the heart of every membership meeting. A limited number of project briefings are accepted. Project briefings address state-of-the-art developments and issues of interest to the membership, as outlined in each year’s Program Plan, as covered in recent member meetings, and as explored in recent Executive Roundtable reports (see also https://www.cni.org/topics for more information).
- Anyone may propose a project briefing, including groups/individuals from non-member institutions and organizations.
- Project briefings are typically 30-minute to one-hour presentation sessions that focus on a discussion of a timely topic, or on a specific institutional/organizational or cross-institutional project related to digital information. This year we will also offer the option to propose lightning round presentations (limited to seven minutes and a single speaker). Final time slot assignments are made at the discretion of meeting organizers.
- ALL SPEAKERS WILL BE REQUIRED TO PROVIDE PROOF OF VACCINATION.
- A limited number of project briefings will be accepted; topics that would particularly benefit from interactive discussion will be prioritized, as will proposals focusing on novel or creative approaches to community challenges.*
- Applicants will be notified whether or not their proposal has been selected.
- Once accepted, speakers will be contacted regarding the schedule.
-
Meeting attendees include senior IT, computing, research and library administrators, publishing executives, government officials, and others with a high level of interest in and understanding of digital information issues.
-
Presentations provide information about a project’s goals, progress, and lessons learned, but they may also involve demonstrations. Issue-oriented briefings include the presentation of background information on a CNI-related topic and more time for general discussion with the audience. Project briefings are not intended to serve as marketing sessions for new products or services.
- We strongly urge all those presenting grant CNI permission to record and make their session subsequently available.
*CNI’s new, quarterly Pre-Recorded Project Briefing Series is designed to complement the biannual membership meetings, offering an opportunity to share updates and reports on new and ongoing initiatives in a more timely manner and on a year-round basis. Presentations that are well-suited for the pre-recorded briefings program include recently published reports and updates on new or ongoing projects, programs, or organizations that may have reported at CNI in the past, although proposals on any topic germane to CNI’s program are welcome, and anyone may submit a proposal, including non-members. We encourage prospective speakers to explore this program as they consider submission options. The Fall 2022 meeting will include only in-person project briefings.
