Information for Presenters
Please Check Back for Updates (Last updated 2/25/2022)
1. General Information (Virtual & In-Person)
Preparing for Your Project Briefing
- Attendees will include heads of information technology and library administrators from universities, publishers, government, and technology companies knowledgeable about the issues of networking and digital information.
- Project briefings are not intended to serve as marketing sessions for new products or services.
- Feedback from prior meetings indicates that attendees strongly prefer that calls for collaboration and partnerships be made near the end of a session, after project descriptions/updates have been presented.
- The CNI presentation style generally includes slides; speakers typically do not read papers at our meetings.
After Your Project Briefing
Please be sure to share your slides with us so we can add them to the meeting website after your session. We recommended the following file naming convention: LastName_SessionTitle_CNISpring22.

Please contact us with questions, and thank you for your contributions to CNI’s Spring 2022 Membership Meeting!
2. Virtual Presenters
Schedule
March 21–22, 1:00pm–5:30pm ET will be devoted to virtual project briefings. Speakers who are selected will be notified of the date and time.
Preparing for Your Project Briefing
- The virtual event will take place on Zoom Meeting. There will be one Zoom link for the entire event; this will be the same link for speakers and attendees. We will send the Zoom link via email with more details.
- Plan to share/run your slides from your own computer during the meeting. If you would like to arrange a practice session, contact Paige Pope (paige@cni.org) at least three days prior to your presentation.
- Attendees have told us that, in a virtual environment, shorter, focused presentations with reduced background information are preferable.
Presenting Your Live Project Briefing
Please join Zoom at least 15 minutes prior to your scheduled session time to double-check that everything is running as it should be.
- Plan to run your own slides (if using); if there is more than one speaker in your group, it is best to have one person run all slides from a single deck.
- The better your network connection the better your presentation will go. Use a wired connection if possible.
- CNI staff will serve as hosts and to provide support.
Registration
Speakers MUST register for the virtual event by March 9. If you have not already registered, please consult your acceptance email for instructions or contact us. Please note, the registration deadline for the in-person event has been extended until March 4.
3. In-Person Presenters
Schedule
March 28, 1:00pm–5:30pm PT and March 29, 9:00am–2:30pm PT will be dedicated to the in-person project briefings. Speakers who are selected will be notified of the date and time. Those presenting project briefings at the in-person event are expected to do so in-person; we will not have the capacity to facilitate remote presentations.
Preparing for Your Project Briefing
Each in-person briefing should include a generous amount of time for general discussion and questions.
Audio/Visual, Internet, Equipment
- CNI does not provide computers.
- CNI will provide a projector and an HDMI cable for connecting to the projector (Mac users: please bring your Apple video output dongle).
- Hotel Internet connections can be unreliable. It is preferable if you can capture what you need without a live connection.
- Your session will be recorded (unless all agree otherwise in advance) and videos will be made publicly available. For best results, please use an aspect ratio of 16:9 for your slides.
- Contact Angelo Cruz (angelo@cni.org) immediately with any questions or special requests re. A/V, Internet, or equipment (e.g. speakers).
Registration
Speakers MUST register for this meeting by March 4. In-person speakers are invited to attend both the virtual (March 21-22) and in-person (March 28-29) events. If you have not already registered, please consult your acceptance email for instructions or contact us.
Please visit our Registration & Accommodations webpage for details on travel and booking your stay. We look forward to welcoming you!
Health & Safety
CNI will require all attendees to be fully vaccinated prior to participating in the in-person event. This includes all presenters! Please consult the Health & Safety Guidelines webpage frequently for the most up-to-date information.
