Overview of the 2017-18 CNI Program Plan
Clifford Lynch has led the Coalition for Networked Information (CNI) since 1997. He is both a past president and recipient of the Award of Merit of the American Society for Information Science, and a fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science and the National Information Standards Organization. In 2011 he was appointed co-chair of the National Academies Board on Research Data and Information; he serves on numerous advisory boards and visiting committees. His work has been recognized by the American Library Association’s Lippincott Award, the EDUCAUSE Leadership Award in Public Policy and Practice, and the American Society for Engineering Education’s Homer Bernhardt Award. Lynch also serves as adjunct professor at Berkeley’s School of Information

Paul Evan Peters Award & Lecture
Noted Los Alamos National Laboratory research scientist Herbert Van de Sompel will receive the 2017 Paul Evan Peters Award. Named for CNI’s founding director, the award recognizes notable, lasting achievements in the creation and innovative use of information resources and services that advance scholarship and intellectual productivity through communication networks. Previous award recipients include Donald A.B. Lindberg (2014), Christine L. Borgman (2011), Daniel Atkins (2008), Paul Ginsparg (2006), Brewster Kahle (2004), Vinton Cerf (2002), and Tim Berners-Lee (2000). More information is at www.cni.org/go/pep-award/.
