CNI Fall 2015 Membership Meeting
Project Briefing Proposals
PROPOSALS ARE NO LONGER BEING ACCEPTED
DEADLINE: October 19, 2015
About the Briefings
Project briefings (presentations) are the heart of every membership meeting; proposal submission is open to anyone, including non-members. A limited number of project briefings are accepted. Project briefings address state-of-the-art developments and issues of interest to the membership, as outlined in each year’s Program Plan. Management of data, digital content, and institutional information resources, digital preservation, innovations in teaching and learning, and infrastructure to support research are topics that consistently engage CNI members’ interests.
-
Project briefings are breakouts that allow participants to interact informally about projects, initiatives, and ideas of their own choosing. Presenters may be assigned a 45-minute or one-hour time slot, at the discretion of meeting organizers.
-
Briefings are usually attended by 25-75 people. Attendees include senior IT and library administrators, publishing executives, government officials, and others with a high level of interest in and understanding of networking information issues.
-
The presentations are intended to provide information about a project’s goals, progress, and lessons learned, but they may also involve demonstrations. Issue-oriented briefings include presentation of background information on a “hot topic” and more time for general discussion with the audience. Project briefings are not intended to serve as marketing sessions for new products or services.
-
Each briefing should include at least twenty minutes for general discussion.

Speakers wishing to make handouts available to meeting attendees are invited to bring them to breakout sessions for distribution at that time; alternatively, presenters may contact conference coordinator Jacqueline (Jackie) Eudell at <jackie@cni.org> to arrange for prior delivery of bulk items.
