Digital Libraries
Much of CNI’s work relates to the broad scope of topics involved in the development of digital libraries. Our work has always encompassed many forms of content, including born-digital materials, multi-media, images, video, audio, text, manuscripts, and geo-spatial information. The very large collections compiled by HathiTrust and Google Books, and very large data sets being established in many disciplines, have led to new frontiers for research and scholarship. The content of digital libraries requires stewardship, and we encourage discussion of the organization of these collections, discoverability, long-term preservation, and other aspects of their management.
